Asus ZenFone Max Plus M1 with thin bezels, 4 GB RAM launched in Malaysia

Weeks after launching the ZenFone Max Plus M1 in Russia, Asus has now unveiled the same handset in Malaysia. The device is, by all means, a mid-tier phone with a thin bezel display, the second after Asus launched Pegasus 4S in China. As can be presumed from the “Max” moniker, a big battery is one of the pros of this handset, as is a dual camera setup on the rear. Moreover, it has a good sturdy unimetal build that has now become a staple of mid-range phones.

In the camera department, the rear of the phone holds 2 cameras of 16 MP and 8 MP resolution. The latter is a 120-degree wide angle lens. On the other side, the selfie camera is a 16 MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Like we said earlier, the handset is for heavy users. That’s why it has a 4,130 mAh battery. That coupled with a power-sipping SoC and screen should give those users great battery life. Asus does claim it has built-in fast charging support in the handset but it reportedly tops up at 5v/2A. For the software, there’s nothing to be excited as the phone comes with Android Nougat along with ZenUI 4.0.
For the connectivity part, the ZenFone Max Plus M1 has good options. You’ve got 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also has a fingerprint reader, face unlock, and dual SIM support.
As for how much it costs, the ZenFone Max Plus M1 is priced sensibly at MYR 899 (approx $220 / Rs. 14,000). Potential buyers can choose from 4 colour shades: Sunlight Gold, Azure Silver, and Deepsea Black. There is still no word on availability in other countries as of yet.
